About Me

My name is Kennisha and I am a woman that has grown up to be a complete foodie! I grew up with my mom and her parents. I lived in my grandparents’ house until I was 21 years old. During that time I was able to learn a lot from them about life and also about food. In the evolution of my relationship with food, I have taken recipes from both my Georgia-born grandmother as well as my native Jamaican grandfather. I have made meals the traditional way, tweeked them in a healthier way, and even fused the cultures together to make new dishes. I want them to always have a legacy. I want to make sure the memories they have given me and my family through food live on. The kitchen is my domain. I will make it a gather place for my children, grandchildren, and so on…

I have created this blog to share my adventures in the kitchen – good and bad, my bouts with restaurants and local fare, or even just a random foodie thought of the day.

count your blessings:
to think about the good things in your life, often to stop yourself becoming too unhappy about the bad things.

I thank you for coming to my page and taking a step closer to happiness. Whether its a new recipe you finally decided to try or moments your family may share, I aspire to add blessings to your counter, kitchen, and lives! If you choose to stay for awhile I promise to try my best to satisfy all your senses!

  4. Thank you for the kind comments. I had to find a way to share something I love. There are many people that are good cooks, but they may not have the passion about it like I do. I love for people to taste my food and say I can feel the heart she put into it. You never know where your talents can take you if you can try to expand upon them! 🙂
